Plastic pollution is the build-up of plastic objects and particles in the environment (e.g., plastic bottles, bags, and microbeads) that harms wildlife, wildlife habitat, and humans. Ocean Bound Plastic (OBP) is abandoned plastic waste on its way to oceans. OBP is a critical element in the fight against ocean pollution. It is estimated that 80% of the oceans’ plastic contamination originated from land. Focusing on capturing OBP before it becomes ocean plastic is therefore a direct and very effective way to limit the damage our oceans are suffering. In India, the per capita plastic consumption is about 11 kg per year. Being the second most populace country of world, plastic pollution is a menace to India.
Meensou India is developing a plastic credit project in on Indian coast. This will eradicate the plastic waste problem in these areas, protecting the environment.
